As a Boring Mill Machinist, you'll be using programs from Mastercam or programming at the control. You will be setting up complex jobs and producing precision parts that meet tight tolerances while being trusted with doing it right the first time.WHAT YOU'LL DO:Programming & Production (80%)•Write complex CNC milling programs on the machine or using an offline program.•Program, set up, and operate Toshiba Boring Mill.•Design and build custom fixtures to support accurate machining operations.•Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions for correct setups and processes.•Select and install cutting tools, fixtures, and accessories according to part specifications.•Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust controls for dimensional accuracy.•Inspect and measure finished parts using precision tools to ensure tolerances are met.Maintenance & Safety (10%)•Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work area organized.•Follow all safety procedures, including crane/cart material handling and PPE use.Documentation & Reporting (5%)•Maintain accurate production and quality records.•Follow work orders and report issues promptly.Additional Duties (5%)•Participate in training and cross-functional support.•Continuously improve processes, tools, and workflows.COMPENSATION:•CNC Milling - $28-$38 per hour – commensurate with experience and specialty.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:•This role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs. You'll spend most of your time on your feet and hands-on with machines. If you're the kind of engineer who takes pride in getting it right—and doing it the right way—we'd love to meet you!Requirements:WHAT YOU BRING:•High school diploma or equivalent.•Associate degree in Manufacturing or Technical Programming, completion of apprenticeship, or equivalent training.•Minimum 5 years of CNC milling experience, including advanced programming and setup.•Mastercam/CAD proficiency for complex program creation.•Strong knowledge of tooling, fixtures, speeds/feeds, and inspection tools.•Proficiency in reading blueprints, GD&T, and tooling sheets.BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:•Experience with hard milling, heat-treated materials, and multi-axis machining.•Familiarity with Renishaw Inspection Plus software or similar probing systems.•Understanding of material types and machining characteristics.
