Description INTERNAL PROGRAM OPPORTUNITY -- ONLY CURRENT PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS WILL BE CONSIDERED Work Location: 1955 GA HWY 122 Thomasville, GA 31792 Mission Contribution: Support Goodwill's mission by directly providing training, education, and employment to individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment, helping them reach their fullest potential and achieve greater independence. Through your role, you contribute to empowering individuals and strengthening our community. Primary Function: The OJT/TWE Participant is a temporary, training-focused position designed to provide exposure to a variety of workplace tasks in preparation for competitive employment. Assignments will vary based on placement and may include activities similar to retail, donation processing, customer service, or other operational roles. The participant reports to their case manager for program oversight and receives day-to-day training and supervision from the onsite leader/manager. This position directly supports Goodwill's mission by participating in hands-on, work-based learning experiences that build skills, work habits, and confidence. Training placements help participants prepare for long-term employment and self-sufficiency. Essential Functions:Participate in hands-on training related to customer service, donation processing, sales floor stocking, cleaning, sorting, or similar operational tasksFollow instructions and demonstrate willingness to learn new skillsPractice safe work habits and follow all safety proceduresWork collaboratively with staff and customers in a professional mannerMaintain a tidy and organized work areaAttend scheduled trainings, workshops, or meetings as directedFollow all Goodwill policies and proceduresPerform other duties as assigned that are appropriate for training goals Competencies: Clear Communication Understanding Diverse Needs Good Judgment and Discretion Teamwork and Cooperation Workplace Safety Awareness Willingness to Learn Requirements: Interest in developing workplace skills and work readiness Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks Willingness to receive feedback and apply it to improve performance Ability to work cooperatively with others Flexibility and openness to learning a variety of tasks Physical Requirements: Physical demands will vary by placement. Depending on the assignment, work may involve standing, walking, bending, lifting, sitting, repetitive motions, operating equipment, or other physical activities typical of the assigned worksite. In addition to this general description, the employee will review and sign a job-specific physical requirements description for the position in which they are placed, whether at a Goodwill location or an off-site community partner/business Typical Work Environment: Work environments will vary and may include retail, warehouse, office, or outdoor settings. Some participants may be placed in OJT or TWE positions with community partners or businesses, which are considered off-site placements while remaining Goodwill employees. Participants may be exposed to weather conditions, noise, dust, or other elements typical of the worksite
