This role owns Guzman's long-term transmission position and serves as the source of truth for Designated Network Resource (DNR) tracking. The Transmission Portfolio Strategist leads the systems, tools, and processes that enable Guzman's transmission portfolio to operate at scale — supporting trading, regulatory, and commercial functions across the company.This is a high-impact role at the center of the Transmission and FTR group. The right candidate combines portfolio discipline with technical depth in power flow analysis, a strong systems and data orientation, and the ability to partner across Supply, Risk, Origination, and Real-Time. The Transmission Portfolio Strategist reports to the Director of Transmission and FTR.Core ResponsibilitiesPortfolio Ownership & DNR TrackingHold and maintain Guzman's long-term transmission position across all applicable Transmission ProvidersOwn the DNR process end to end and serve as the source of truth for DNR trackingMaintain an integrated DNR tracking map that reconciles accurately against OASISTrack the timing of roll-over rights and drive timely action across the portfolioManage how the value of each leg of the portfolio is recorded into Guzman's systemsKeep the portfolio organized, documented, and current at all timesSystems, Tools & Source of TruthLead the strategy for how Guzman records and manages its transmission portfolio, including the underlying systems and toolsImplement and refine the tools needed to support portfolio management, position tracking, and reportingEnsure consistency between internal systems and external sources of record (OASIS, TSP filings)Develop reporting and dashboards that enable Trading, Risk, Supply, and Origination to operate from shared dataPower Flow Analysis & ModelingLead forward-looking power flow analysis to support portfolio and trading decisionsDevelop and advance Guzman's transmission modeling capability — through internal partnership, vendor tools, or consultant support as appropriateDefine the appropriate mix of in-house and external analysis for transmission planning needsSupport portfolio-level decisions and trading strategy with technical analysisCross-Functional CoordinationWork closely with Supply and Load to ensure proper match-making across the portfolioPartner with Risk and Supply on path knowledge, exposure, and portfolio positioningTrack and coordinate proper book placement on transmission trade valueWork closely with Origination on transmission recommendations and placement of new assetsProvide subject-matter support to the Transmission and FTR team across trading, regulatory, and study workstreamsRequired Qualifications5+ years of experience in transmission, energy markets, FTR, portfolio management, or a related power-sector roleBachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Business, or a related quantitative disciplineStrong working knowledge of OASIS, OATT tariffs, DNR processes, and long-term transmission serviceExperience with at least one major RTO/ISO (SPP, MISO, PJM, ERCOT, CAISO, or WECC bilateral markets)Demonstrated portfolio or position management experience — holding a book of record and reconciling it to external systemsStrong analytical skills with the ability to translate technical data into business decisionsProficiency in Microsoft Excel;
