This position is for a Machine Tool Operator to operate CNC and manual mills and lathes in a prototype & production setting, along with various other duties. The work will be supporting multiple DoD customers in areas such as mine countermeasures, air cushion vehicles, and unmanned systems. The ideal candidate will also have welding experience and the ability to coordinate multiple fabrication projects simultaneously.. Job Responsibilities: Program, set up, and operate CNC machinery. Perform various mechanical assembly duties and fabricate from engineering drawings. Perform preventive maintenance on shop machinery. Work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature, where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. Qualifications Required Education: HS Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years’ experience programming and running machine shop equipment. Qualifications: Experience with CAM software (MasterCAM, FeatureCAM, HSM Works, SolidWorks CAM, or equivalent) in both 2D and 3D applications Experience with HAAS CNC Mills and Lathes Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications Proficient written and verbal communication skills Good organization skills and attention to detail Must be a "self-starter" and be able to work with minimal supervision Experience with Quality Assurance Experience using standard measuring tools (calipers, mircometers, etc.) Experience with a Faro Arm is a plus. Desired Skills: Experience using Microsoft Excel Required Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
