Details Med/Surg Telemetry unit (4W) in a hospital setting Patient population includes pre/post cath, post-stroke, Afib, CHF exacerbation, and mixed telemetry cases — no sheath pulling (performed in Cath Lab) Patient ratio of 1:4–5 Non-titratable drip management including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, and Heparin Equipment used includes Alaris pumps, LifePak defibrillator monitors, Hoyer lifts, glucometers, Dynamaps, and Kangaroo pumps Epic EMR — experience preferred 12-hour night shifts Every other weekend required Major holiday coverage required Floating to other Med/Surg units is possible Requirements Active RN license — VA state license or compact RN license required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience required Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required Telemetry experience required Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible Proof of address required for consideration (acceptable documents: Driver's License, Voter Registration card, Federal Income Tax return with primary state of residence, Military Form DD-2058, or W-2 from US government) Full SSN and DOB required for consideration 1 supervisory reference required Copy of current certifications required Additional Information Navy blue, white, or a combination of both scrub colors required Pass/fail EKG test administered on the first day with two attempts allowed — a study guide will be provided A dysrhythmia exam is also required — study guide available upon request Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, developing and implementing individualized plans of care, administering medications, and coordinating care across the interdisciplinary team Serves as point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments and with families/caregivers Clinically manages patients with multi-system conditions and responds to rapidly changing patient status Adult and geriatric patient population (ages 18 and older) American Traveler Job ID P-684976.
