This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with a strong foundation in power electronics to learn from experienced senior engineers and contribute to the development and validation of Oracle's enterprise-grade power solutions.In this role, you will be actively involved in the full product lifecycle, from initial design evaluation to post-launch support. You will gain hands-on experience in our state-of-the-art hardware labs, performing rigorous testing and validating the seamless interaction of our power products with Oracle servers. This will include working with various power components such as AC/DC Power Supply Units (PSUs), Battery Backup Units (BBUs), DC/AC converters, and Rack Power Distribution Units (PDUs).You will play a crucial supporting role for senior engineers, assisting with their projects and contributing to the overall success of the team. This position will involve regular interaction with external PSU development companies, fostering collaboration and ensuring the successful integration of their technologies. While primarily based in Burlington, MA, some travel may be required to support various projects and initiatives.ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilitiesLearn from and support senior power engineers in the design, development, and validation of power products. Conduct hands-on testing and characterization of power hardware in our dedicated labs. Validate the interaction and compatibility of power products (AC/DC PSUs, BBUs, DC/AC converters, Rack PDUs) with Oracle server architectures. Assist in the evaluation of new power designs and technologies. Participate in the debugging and resolution of power-related issues. Collaborate with external PSU development companies on technical aspects and project execution. Contribute to documentation, test plans, and engineering reports. Maintain a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices in power conversion. Required Skills And ExperienceBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant power engineering experience, OR a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) with a minimum of 3 years of relevant power engineering experience. Good understanding of the fundamentals of power conversion, including AC/DC and DC/AC conversion principles. Hands-on experience with power supply testing and characterization. Familiarity with various power components such as PSUs, BBUs, and PDUs. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Beneficial SkillsKnowledge of PSU manufacturing processes and methodologies. Experience with power integrity and signal integrity analysis. Familiarity with industry standards for power supply design and safety. Proficiency in using common lab equipment for power electronics testing and debug, including bench power supplies, current probes, AC sources, oscilloscopes, and high-voltage probes. Demonstrated hands-on experience with soldering and rework of surface-mount and through-hole components.
