Forvis Mazars Search Advisory has been retained to identify a Director of HR in Cary, NC.Client: Nursing and Residential Care Facility Management CorporationOrganization: 1000+ Employees, 9 facilities in North CarolinaDirector of Human ResourcesLocation: Cary, NC (Onsite)Schedule: Full-TimeRole OverviewReporting to the CEO, the Director of Human Resources serves as a strategic business partner to corporate and facility leadership, driving strong employee relations, compliance, engagement, and talent outcomes. This self-starter will own all HR functions across the organization, ensuring legal compliance, workforce effectiveness, and a positive culture that supports high performance and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as Corporate HR Compliance Officer; ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA, Title VII, PDA, HIPAA)Lead employee relations, investigations, conflict resolution, and corrective action in partnership with leadershipOversee talent acquisition systems (ATS), HRIS (Paycom), onboarding, and workforce planningDrive employee engagement initiatives, surveys, and action planning; lead training and development programsManage benefits communication, workers’ compensation coordination, and HR policy administrationDevelop, update, and maintain employee handbooks, policies, and corporate compliance trainingAnalyze workforce and retention trends using HR analytics to inform strategy and decision-makingSupport executive leadership with succession planning, organizational design, and corporate initiativesAnalyze/modernize/optimize employee benefits packagesQualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field8–10 years of progressive HR experienceStrong working knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and complianceProven ability to partner with executives and manage sensitive issues with discretionHealthcare or multi-site operational experience including employment and health compliance lawsPreferredSPHR certificationExperience leading HRIS/ATS implementations and auditsSkills & CompetenciesStrategic HR leadership with strong business acumenExcellent communication, judgment, and conflict management skillsData-driven decision maker with strong analytical capabilitiesHighly organized, adaptable, and results-orientedCollaborative leader who promotes accountability and engagementWork Environment & ExpectationsOnsite role based in the Cary, NC corporate office with regular visits to facilities statewideSome overnight and conference travel requiredMay require occasional evening/weekend availability and emergency call-backExposure risk typical of healthcare environments (training and PPE provided)Why This RoleThis is a high-impact leadership role with direct influence on culture, compliance, and workforce effectiveness across the organization.
