Additional responsibilities include monitoring trailer inventory as well, and some material handler functions such as forklift loading and unloading of trailers within the warehouse. Weekly driving schedule will include rotating into yard driver duties as needed (Team of 3 Rotation).Key Responsibilities Include:Transporting loaded trailer of materials between Ascentek & supplier facilitiesMoving trailers in and out of dock doors and/or repositioning trailers within parking lot Maintain trailer inventory and updates on DOT dates as neededMaintain current driver’s license with appropriate endorsements and medical cardComply with DOT hours of service rules and maintain truck operation in full compliance with DOT regulationsUtilize driver paper logbooks as neededOperating a forklift and completing warehouse functionsEducation: High School Diploma or GEDExperience/Training:Prefer 2 years driving experience within the last 5 years and excellent customer service skillsPrior forklift experienceNo more than 3 moving violations in the last 36 months or 2 in the last 12 monthsNo DWI or DUI in the past 5 yearsLicenses/Certificates: Class A licenseHAZMAT, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsementsCurrent DOT Medical certification cardMeets all D.O.T. qualifications in accordance with the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations, Title 49 Code of Federal RegulationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Must be able to effectively communicate to maintain positive relations with team membersCapable of standing, walking, and repeatedly climbing into and out of truck tractor or forklift several times throughout the day. Ability to lift 50lbs periodicallyComfortable using smart devicesPhysical and Mental demands: Physical demands: Employee must have the ability to lift/carry up to 60 pounds occasionally. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit & operate their tractor, crank trailer legs, walk & handle objects.
