Job Title: Senior Java Engineer (Payments Platform)Location- New Jersey, USA (Onsite from office)Employment- FulltimeJob Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Engineer to design and build scalable backend systems for modern payment platforms. This role involves developing microservices-based solutions and leveraging event-driven architecture to ensure high performance, reliability, and security of financial transactions.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain backend services for payment processing systemsBuild and optimize microservices-based architectures for scalability and resilienceDevelop and consume RESTful APIs for internal and external integrationsImplement event-driven solutions using Kafka for real-time data processingEnsure high availability, performance, and security of applicationsCollaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, and DevOpsParticipate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decision-makingTroubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely mannerRequired Skills & Qualifications:Strong experience in Java (8/11/17+) and backend developmentHands-on experience with Microservices architectureExpertise in building and consuming REST APIsExperience with Apache Kafka or similar event streaming platformsFamiliarity with Spring Boot / Spring CloudStrong understanding of event-driven architectureExperience with databases (SQL/NoSQL)Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a plusUnderstanding of payment systems, transactions, or financial domain preferredAbout Opus Technologies Opus Technologies is a technology company with a focus on shaping the future of payments technology.
