Shipping Dock Worker

Job description Dock Worker position available in a manufacturing environment. This is a stable full-time position. The selected candidate will be a part of our shipping department with the following functions: 1. Responsible to load incoming trailers being careful to preserve and transfer paperwork properly. 2. Responsible to unload incoming trailers, when they arrive as necessary. 3. Responsible to perform the following functions for each tagged trailer load: a. Ensure it is labeled properly b. Inspect and report carton or trailer damage c. Check for correct packing slip and pallet case count for order. d. Ensure pallets are shrink-wrapped properly 4. Inspect the forklifts in the beginning of your shift 5. Perform other job duties assigned. 6. Follow the company safety rules (including inspection of forklifts prior to use, checking for chocked trailer before loading/unloading, etc.) 7. Observe and maintain product and packaging quality for incoming or outgoing product (any non-compliant product or packaging should be removed and the shipping supervisor informed). 8. May occasionally be required to assist in production area. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Basic dock and warehouse operations, quality control inspection, forklift operation, proper lifting techniques and use of scanners for inventory control.
