Your role will involve analyzing project specifications, reviewing plans, and collaborating with project managers and engineers to deliver precise bidding proposals. You will be able to tell a story of the build with 25% drawings. You will also participate in value engineering efforts, identify potential risks, document estimating processes, and support our business development team. Your proficiency in estimating software and mechanical systems will be essential in driving the efficiency and effectiveness of our project estimations.Duties and ResponsibilitiesReview project specifications and engineering drawings to develop accurate cost estimates for mechanical systemsCoordinate with project managers and engineers to compile necessary information for estimationsPrepare comprehensive proposals that include material, labor, and equipment costsParticipate in value engineering sessions to analyze potential cost savings without sacrificing qualityMaintain estimating records and assist in developing unit pricing for mechanical installationsSupport business development initiatives by providing accurate and timely estimates to clientsIdentify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategiesCollaborate with project teams to ensure alignment and clarity on project objectivesStay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to inform estimation practicesAssist with other responsibilities, including documentation and administrative tasks related to estimating.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field5+ years of experience in mechanical estimating within the construction industryProficient in estimating software and tools for mechanical systemsStrong understanding of mechanical codes, regulations, and industry standardsAbility to analyze project specifications and drawings effectivelyExcellent mathematical skills and attention to detail for precise cost calculationsStrong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholdersAbility to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentBenefitsOn top of a generous base salary, this role offers per diem, subsidized healthcare plans, flexible work schedules, generous paid time off, 401k plan, and many other benefits, subject to applicable eligibility criteria and company policies.
