This includes Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, a Retirement Plan, Paid time Off, and Tuition waivers for employees and dependents.The Business Manager / Research Administrator oversees the full lifecycle of sponsored research administration and day-to-day business operations for a multidisciplinary research laboratory. This role is responsible for pre- and post-award grant management, financial oversight of multimillion-dollar research budgets, regulatory compliance, and administrative leadership. The position serves as the primary liaison between the laboratory and central university offices to ensure operational efficiency, fiscal integrity, and adherence to federal and institutional policies.Duties & Responsibilities:Direct daily administrative and business operations supporting all laboratory research activitiesProvide strategic communication and logistical coordination for ongoing and proposed research initiativesServe as the primary liaison between the laboratory and institutional offices, including the Office of Research Services (ORS) and Grants & ContractsManage the complete grant lifecycle, including proposal development, budget preparation, and justificationOversee post-award financial management for federal and private sponsored projectsAdminister sponsored project finances using BANNER and EDDIE systemsProcess and monitor journal vouchers, budget transfers, and other financial transactionsPrepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to sponsors and stakeholdersConduct detailed monthly reconciliations to ensure fiscal accuracy and transparencyAdminister subcontracts, consulting agreements, and contract modifications through OVCR electronic systemsOversee subcontract invoicing and payment, tracking compliance with contractual milestonesCollaborate with laboratory leadership and Quality Assurance units to develop and maintain regulatory policies and proceduresEnforce T-Card and P-Card compliance, including reconciliation of Chrome River transactionsMinimum Qualifications Required: A. Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, business administration, management, or a closely related field.ORB. Three (3) years (36 months) of work experience in accounting, business administration, fiscal management, or closely related experience.ORC.
