Legal Assistant

Legal Assistant Aeton Law Partners is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our legal team and help ensure the efficient operation of our practice. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates professionally, and is eager to grow within the legal field. The Legal Assistant will provide administrative and clerical support to attorneys and staff, assist with legal document preparation and case management, maintain organized filing systems, and serve as a professional point of contact for clients. Key Responsibilities Prepare, draft, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings  Organize and maintain both electronic and physical filing systems for efficient document management and retrieval  Schedule and coordinate attorney appointments, meetings, and court appearances Track deadlines and ensure timely filing and submission of legal documents  Maintain calendars and proactively notify attorneys of important dates, deadlines, and upcoming events  Communicate with clients in a professional and courteous manner, responding to inquiries and providing assistance as appropriate  Serve as a liaison between clients, attorneys, courts, and external parties via phone, email, and in-person communication  Perform general administrative duties including answering phone lines, mail and package collection, scanning, copying, filing, and document management  Assist attorneys with discovery preparation, trial preparation, and case organization  Support a collaborative, client-focused office environment  Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in legal studies is a plus  Prior experience in a law firm or legal department  Familiarity with legal terminology, procedures, and court documentation is helpful  Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills  Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy  Effective written and verbal communication skills  Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment  Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion  Experience working in a paperless office environment, including digital file management and dual-monitor systems, is a plus  Comfortable learning new technology and adapting to new systems and processes Commitment to professional growth, continuous learning, and outstanding client service  Schedule & Location This is an in-office position located in Middletown, Connecticut.
