Job DetailsThe Director of Perfusion Services is responsible for the strategic, operational, and clinical integration of perfusion services across the Jefferson Health system. This is a new role within Jefferson Health and will serve as the owner of perfusion strategy, ensuring high‑quality, safe, reliable, and cost‑effective perfusion services that support cardiovascular and surgical programs across academic, tertiary, and community settings. Reporting into the Toll Health & Vascular Institute (HVI) and Department of Cardiac Surgery will have clinical and administrative leadership responsibilities across all cardiac surgical locations, transplant locations, and ECMO locations. The initial focus of the Director will be the insourcing of any current vendor driven perfusion service locations. Once insourcing is completed the focus will shift to advancing Jefferson's "One Enterprise" care model—moving perfusion from regionally siloed operations to a coordinated, health system operating framework. driving standardization of clinical practice, resource deployment, quality and financial performance. The role will also have an academic function designing and implementing a sustainable educational platform for the perfusion program and extending the scope of training available.Job DutiesHuman Resource Management: Responsible for recruitment, retention, and management of all perfusion related resources. Defines operational needs for enterprise perfusion service and appropriate staffing deployment. Management perfusion service locations via subordinate managers/clinical leaders across 8 operative sites with 24/7 in-house and emergency response accountabilityProgram Management: Defines and maintains the clinical standards of care for perfusion services, ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation), and VAD (Ventricular Assist Device) & blood management programs.Quality Management: Ensures that all perfusionist, ECMO specialist, perfusion technicians and other associated services are meeting or exceeding established standards. Develop and implement mitigation strategies as needed to maintain patient safety.Financial Performance: Develops and manages the annual operating and capital budgets, including monitoring expenses, identifying, justifying, and resolving variances, identify opportunities for cost savings. Development and management of revenue sources related to clinical work in various service areas/locations.Regulatory Compliance: Ensures department compliance with regulatory bodies, including The Joint Commission, CMS, and state licensing boardsSupply Chain & Capital Management: Defines materials management strategy in coordination with supply chain. Responsible for management of vendor relationships, purchasing of supplies, and maintains inventory controls. Development of capital management plan, fleet replacement program, equipment function, and innovation.Education: partnering with the University program to ensure high quality educational experiences for students and growth of the perfusion school.Clinical Care Delivery: Provide perfusion and related services to patients as part of the overall perfusion service.
