Controller

Century Group is partnering with a client who is seeking a Controller to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $140,000 to $160,000 per year.Job Responsibilities:Develops and maintains budgets aligned with the company's financial goals, ensuring strategies align with growth plans while providing financial oversight and controls for operating and station development budgets.Develops and manages short-term and long-term financial strategies, streamlining financial processes and controls for improved efficiency.Tracks and evaluates the performance of annual budgets, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet financial goals.Approves payments up to defined limits, overseeing financial transactions to ensure compliance and accuracy.Manages cash projections, forecasting future working capital needs to maintain liquidity.Develops and maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.Collaborates initially with a third-party accounting team, gradually transitioning to build and lead an internal accounting team, fostering growth and development.Assists with financial audits and tax-related activities, working closely with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance and accuracy.Prepares comprehensive financial statements and reports for stakeholders, offering insights into the company's financial health and performance.Provides financial guidance to company leadership, evolving the collaboration as the company matures.Oversees and reviews the effectiveness of the company's accounting system.Oversees Billing, A/P, A/R, budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow management, and cash and checking reconciliations.Complies with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.Inspires trust and confidence in the ability to deliver through clear and proactive communication, customer empathy, and reliable execution.Contributes to the organization's shared understanding of what good looks like across multiple dimensions of quality..Qualifications: A minimum 6 years of progressive experience in a financial or accounting role,preferably with experience in a public accounting firm or financial controller responsibilities within real estate development or retail operating companies.CPA Certification is required.Proficient with accounting suites, such as Sage Intacct.
