General Job Summary The Staff Nurse is responsible for assisting in the supervision and delivery of high-quality nursing care within the facility. This role requires a comprehensive knowledge of nursing theory and practice, the ability to support and interpret the nursing program, and dedication to fostering an environment conducive to the physical, social, and psychological well-being of residents Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to residents in accordance with established standards of practice and facility policies. Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans. Supervise, motivate, and evaluate CNAs, CMAs, and other paraprofessional staff to ensure high-quality care. Monitor resident status and report significant changes to the physician, family, and interdisciplinary team. Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely. Ensure proper documentation of care, assessments, and interventions. Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and positive resident environment. Support residents’ rights and advocate for their physical, emotional, and psychosocial well-being. Qualifications Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Iowa. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Completion of all continuing education units (CEUs) as required by the Iowa Board of Nursing. Previous long-term care or geriatric nursing experience preferred. Supervisory experience with ancillary staff preferred, but not required. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
