Electrical Engineer
Job SummaryThe Electrical Engineer will contribute to the design, test, and release of new products; will work in a cross-functional development group; manage a variety of tasks and activities in a dynamic environment; and solve complex problems where no precedence exists.Responsibilities:Design custom control hardware for data center cooling infrastructure that enables high performance heat transfer technology to function seamlessly within customer data center environments.Design custom PCBs based upon mechanical, electrical, and software requirements and then utilize automated PCB layout tools to transition those designs into functional hardware with STL PCBA vendors. New PCBA's will include microcontrollers, SOCs, NICs, AC and DC voltage regulation, and resilient communication buses.Design and/or implement PHYs and other communication hardware for Ethernet, CAN, I2C, Serial, BACnet, Modbus, etc.Responsible for taking new designs production including all testing, bring up, and board spins necessary to develop a successful product.Collaborate across teams for design reviews, cost reductions, and brainstorming around customer pain points.Develop solutions to complex problems where little or no precedence exists - the use of ingenuity and creativity is regularly requiredRequirements:Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related degree from an accredited college or university5+ years of experience in product development, demonstrating a track record of increasing responsibilitiesProficiency with industry standard PCB design and simulation software packagesStrong understanding of electronic components, circuit theory, and signal integrityStrong understanding of the electrical implementation of standard communication protocols (Ethernet, I2C, CAN, etc.)Familiarity with designing custom PCBs utilizing common microcontrollers and SOCs such as ARM SOCs, CPLDs, PICs, ASICs, etc.Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., IPC, ISO)Experience developing IPC class 1 and class 2 boardsDemonstrated history of delivering quality products to market with understanding and respect for phases of the product development processAbility to thrive in an ambiguous environment, manage multiple projects, collaborate with cross functional teams to solve complex challenges, and meet deadlinesExcellent project management skills and communication skills, both written and verbalPreferred:Advanced degrees or technical certificationsFamiliarity with IT and data center power delivery systemsFamiliarity with facility management software and control hardwareProficient in 3D CAD software, i.e..
