Senior Accountant

About the role:We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing construction business. Reporting to the Controller or CFO. This role will play a key part in overseeing accounting and administrative functions, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and partnering with operational teams to support company goals. This role will offer working in a collaborative and team-oriented environment and the opportunity to grow and develop.You will be responsible for:Manage and lead the accounting team including project accountants, AP/AR specialists, and payroll staffOwn the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completionPrepare and review monthly financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reportsOversee general ledger management including journal entries, account reconciliations, and intercompany transactionsManage job costing processes to ensure accurate project-level financial tracking and budget monitoringReview and maintain WIP (Work in Progress) schedules across all active projectsOversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions including subcontractor pay applications, lien waivers, and retainage trackingManage bank reconciliations and cash flow reportingExperience Required: Degree in Accounting / Masters (preferred)5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience with experience in a construction frmStrong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principlesExperience with accounting/ERP systemsPrior leadership/supervisory experience
