The portfolio includes grant supervision and major giving stewardship. This position requires a passionate advocate with a strong commitment to the values and goals of BELONG Partners. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic vision, fundraising expertise, and exceptional communication skills to drive revenuegrowth and engage stakeholders effectively.BELONG Partners is seeking a Director of Advancement to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a multi-skilled self-starter with experience in, and a high level of enthusiasm for, building an effective, sustainable development program essentially from the ground up. BELONG Partners is supported primarily by earned revenue and is growing its support from foundation grants and individual contributions. We are looking for a seasoned fundraising professional who can lead us in building an expanded and diversified fundraising program and implementing the resource development and advancement goals of our 2024-2028 Strategic Plan. The Director of Advancement will oversee organizational communications activities.Required QualificationsPassion for the work of BELONG Partners. Commitment to equity in education.Demonstrated commitment to integrity, accountability and transparency.Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in nonprofit management, fundraising, communications or related field.5+ years’ progressively responsible experience in development leadership; with a preference for experience in developing and implementing fundraising systems and programs.Demonstrated track record of successfully raising significant revenue and meeting revenue generation goals.Demonstrated fundraising and donor relationship building skills and techniques.Experience in working collaboratively with Boards of Directors on fundraising initiatives.Experience in capacity building.Demonstrated experience in communications and PR.Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills; ability to present information effectively and persuasively in diverse settings.Must be able to travel to multiple locations around the Seattle area as needed.Primary ResponsibilitiesIn collaboration with the Shared Leadership Team and the Board of Directors, develop and implement long-term and annual fundraising strategies, goals and tactics to support the strategic direction of the organization.Build relationships with community stakeholders to advance the programmatic and fundraising goals of the organization.In collaboration with the Shared Leadership Team including the Director of Programs, develop and implement a communication strategy for a broad spectrum of internal and external audiences through multiple channels utilizing website, email, newsletters, and social and print media in support of fundraising and program efforts; integrate fundraising and communications plans for maximum impact.Manage awarded grants, including overseeing budgets, reporting requirements, compliance, and deadlines to ensure successful execution and accountability.Identify prospective individual donors; develop and implement strategies to successfully cultivate those relationships into major gifts.Coordinate organizational events, including donor engagement gatherings and community celebrations, to strengthen visibility, deepen relationships, and highlight the impact ofBELONG Partners.In collaboration with the Shared Leadership Team and contracted grant writers, identify, develop, submit and track foundation, corporate and government grant proposals.In collaboration with staff, plan and execute fundraising and donor cultivation events.Manage donor tracking systems to ensure accurate tracking of data and confidentiality of donor information, and to ensure timely acknowledgment of contributions.Foster an understanding of philanthropy within the organization; provide support and coaching to staff and board regarding the fundraising process and their respective roles in meeting fiscal goals.
