Psychiatric - Mental Health Physician

Qualifications: ? MD or DO Degree ? Licensed in the State of Connecticut ? Board Certified ? 5 years experience in a psychiatric setting, including an outpatient program, preferred ? Demonstrated management and leadership abilities through previous experience preferred Specifics: ? Full time, employed ? Call 1:5 including weekend call ? 16-bed locked inpatient unit for adults 18 years of age and older ? Unit usually runs at full census ? Will have assistance of full time APRN who has prescriptive authority ? Average length of stay is approximately 8 days ? Patient population is mixed with approximately 2/3 mood disorders and 1/3 psychotic disorders ? Approximately 40-50 admissions per month ? 50% of all patients carry a co-morbid substance abuse disorder
