Inventory & Materials Flow Specialist

A delivery truck pulls up—you receive parts against purchase orders and packing slips, verify quantities and condition, and stage items for put-away. You keep inventory areas tidy and labeled, run a few cycle counts, and reconcile any variances. Mid-morning, production needs components; you issue materials to jobs through Epicor (with a vertical storage interface) and help keep the shop hardware, tooling bins, and supplies topped off. After lunch, you prep outbound shipments—printing packing slips, bills of lading, customs forms when needed—labeling, packaging, and staging pallets. Throughout the day, you operate a forklift safely, coordinate with Purchasing on discrepancies or shortages, track customer-owned parts in storage, and manage scrap metal disposition.What you’ll ownMaterial receipt and inventory care: Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials; store items in designated locations; perform regular cycle counts; maintain neat, organized inventory zones; handle receiving/storage of customer parts; restock common shop supplies and tooling; manage scrap metal disposition.Issuing and production support: Issue materials to jobs in Epicor (ERP) with the vertical storage interface; flag discrepancies or shortages to Purchasing; oversee shipping supply levels and request reorders.Shipping and documentation: Prepare packing slips, bills of lading, customs forms, and other documentation; package, label, and stage outbound shipments; process customer spare-part sales orders through Epicor and prepare those items for shipment.Equipment operation and safety: Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely and efficiently; maintain a clean, safe work environment aligned with company safety standards.How you’ll succeedBe the ideal team player—humble (collaborative, low ego), hungry (self-motivated and diligent), and smart (emotionally intelligent and team-aware).Exhibit strong organization and time management; deliver meticulous inventory accuracy and documentation.Use basic computer skills comfortably, including inventory tools and Microsoft Office.Communicate clearly and work seamlessly across Materials, Purchasing, and Production.Operate forklifts and related equipment with confidence and care.Apply knowledge of shipping/receiving practices and paperwork requirements.Follow safety protocols typical of warehouse/manufacturing environments.Work closely under the guidance of senior team members and bring a solid, moderate understanding of materials management functions.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.1–3 years in warehousing, manufacturing, or materials handling.Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).Experience with inventory systems; Epicor experience is a plus.Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform hands-on physical tasks.TravelNone.ProficienciesShipping/ReceivingWarehouse ExperienceTape Measure ReadingHeavy Material HandlingPackaging ExperienceHigh School / GEDExcellent Communication SkillsShop Math SkillsBasic Computer Skills
