This role combines hands-on work with day-to-day planning, training, and jobsite coordination.Key ResponsibilitiesCrew Leadership & TrainingSupervise and train installation crews on all aspects of landscape installation with a constant focus on safety and quality.Conduct tailgate talks and participate in crew/department safety meetings; reinforce SOPs and PPE use.Installation ExecutionInstall plant material, trees, shrubs, annuals/perennials, and lawns (sod/seed).Perform digging, planting, grading, raking, watering, mulching, edging, and site clean-up to spec.Equipment & MaterialsLoad/unload heavy equipment and plant materials; verify counts and quality upon delivery.Plan, coordinate, and collect tools, equipment, and materials daily; ensure proper storage and maintenance.Safely operate and maintain:Skid steer loaders, mini track loaders, and mini excavatorsTillers, chain saws, backpack sprayers and blowersHand tools (shovels, picks, rakes)Occasionally: aerators, slit seeders, edgers, string trimmers, hedge trimmersScheduling & AdministrationSchedule and monitor daily workloads; adjust plans for weather, site conditions, and change orders.Complete accurate timesheets, delivery tickets, equipment logs, and daily paperwork.Driving & LogisticsSafely drive company vehicles (with/without trailers) and transport crew between the shop and job sites.Client & Site RelationsMaintain professional on-site communication with clients, GCs, contractors, and subcontractors; escalate issues promptly.Cross-Functional SupportAssist other divisions as needed.Support snow/ice operations during winter months (as assigned).Qualifications2+ years in landscape construction/installation, with 1+ year leading a crew preferred.Proficiency in reading blueprints, production plans/layouts, and following the scope/specs accordingly.Strong safety mindset and working knowledge of jobsite risk controls.Competent operation of small/mid-size landscape equipment listed above.Valid driver's license and insurable MVR; trailer experience preferred.Reliable, punctual, able to manage changing priorities and coach a diverse crew.Basic administrative skills using BOSS LM (timesheets, schedules, job tickets, delivery tickets, checklists).Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.Physical & Work ConditionsAbility to lift/push/pull 50+ lbs routinely; frequent standing, bending, stooping, and manual digging.Outdoor work in varied weather (heat, cold, rain); exposure to pollen, dust, insects, and typical landscape hazards.Early start times, overtime, and occasional Saturdays based on project demand and seasonality; winter on-call for snow as assigned.Performance MetricsJobsite safety (zero incidents), quality to spec, on-time completion, labor efficiency, equipment care, paperwork accuracy, and client satisfaction.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary pay rate with PTO and observed holiday pay.Company benefits package (medical, dental, vision, paid time off, retirement plan) and company-provided PPE.Training, certifications, and advancement opportunities tied to performance.Required SkillsSkills & RequirementsAbility to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis, including handling large root balls.Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis.Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.Ability to work around bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns, and other environmental risks.Must wear work boots and Bland Landscaping uniforms or T-shirts, and present yourself in a clean, polite manner.Must practice safety with chemicals and equipment.Must wear company-provided eye and ear protection as required.Must have a valid NC Driver's License and maintain a good driving record (CDL preferred).Must be willing to obtain an NC Pesticide Applicator's License.Must have good communication skills and the ability to motivate others.Must be able to pass a background check.Must submit to an MVR check and maintain a safe driving recordMust comply with Bland's policies and procedures.
