This role involves delivering compassionate, routine patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, ensuring a positive and supportive environment for patients and staff alike.Job SummaryAs a Patient Care Technician, you will perform a variety of technical and direct care tasks including CPR, vital signs monitoring, telemetry support, EKG acquisition, wound care, phlebotomy, and assisting with patient mobility and hygiene. You will be an integral part of the healthcare team, contributing to high-quality patient experiences and supporting clinical procedures and documentation.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct patient care within the scope of a Certified Nursing Assistant license, including personal care, positioning, and assistance with meals.Perform technical skills such as cardiac monitoring, finger stick glucose testing, bladder scanning, and dressing changes.Assist with patient transport, room turnover, and inventory management of supplies.Document patient care activities accurately and assist with transcribing physician orders and scheduling diagnostic tests.Respond promptly and professionally to patient needs and emergency codes.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment following infection control protocols.Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant program.One to two years of experience in a patient care setting, preferably in acute care.Telemetry experience is a plus.Licenses and CertificationsCertified Nursing Assistant (NA-C) license valid in the state of Washington.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Medical Assistant Phlebotomy certification preferred.Skills and AbilitiesStrong knowledge of patient care practices and ability to maintain required competencies.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a caring and professional demeanor.Ability to manage difficult situations while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.Proficiency with technology including electronic medical records and telemetry equipment.Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry varying weights, stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks consistent with patient care duties.Work EnvironmentThis full-time position involves 12-hour shifts within a 40-hour workweek, providing care in a critical access hospital setting with a Level IV trauma designation and comprehensive emergency services.BenefitsCompetitive compensation package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, retirement plans with employer match, tuition reimbursement, employee wellness programs, and more to support your professional growth and well-being.
