Welder

Technique, Inc. is looking for a Welder to join our team at our Concord, North Carolina facility. This position requires the use of MIG/TIG welding equipment in accordance with job and customer demand, welding both stainless steel and carbon steel. The employee will support the quality assurance team with part layouts and inspections, requiring knowledge of GD&T and print reading, and will complete welding assemblies to customer requirements.The ideal candidate brings 1–2 years of welding experience in an industrial setting, with AWS Certification and the ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T notation. Experience with robotic welders, troubleshooting builds using CMM reports, and a basic understanding of CAD/SolidWorks software are critical factors in this role.Responsibilities:Set up and weld – Set up and use MIG/TIG welding equipment to weld basic GTAW and GMAW mild steel jointsAssemble welded products – Assemble exhaust assemblies, racks, and prototyping fixturesPerform 1st piece layouts – Perform 1st piece table layouts and troubleshoot builds using CMM reports to get a good first pieceMaintain job documentation – Maintain accurate job documentation for all production runsLoad and run robot welder – Load and run robot welder in auto and make needed repairs on assemblies after robotInvestigate and correct issues – Investigate and correct issues that are found during a build and/or inspection of an assemblyEnsure products meet requirements – Ensure that products shipped meet internal and customer requirements per CMM reports, blueprints, and AWS specificationsOther duties as assigned – Perform other duties as assignedRequirements:High School Diploma or GED; vocational training preferredAWS Certification required1–2 years of welding experience in an industrial settingAbility to read blueprints and understand GD&T notationBasic understanding of CAD/SolidWorks softwareAbility to use hand and layout/inspection toolsAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environmentBasic problem solving skillsBasic arithmetic skillsAbility to frequently lift and/or move items over 50 poundsThis position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the shiftSpecific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focusComfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to fumes or airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, moving mechanical parts, industrial equipment, vibration, and loud noiseMust be eligible to work in the United StatesPosition Type and Expected Hours:This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a minimum of 40 hours per week with overtime as needed.
