Production Team Lead - Battery Manufacturing

In this role you will conduct daily stand-up meetings and represent the team as needed in cross-functional stand-ups. You will be the first to respond to problems and challenges on the production line, and will help the team solve those problems using your own knowledge and input from engineers and test technicians.The Team Leader is responsible for quality, safety, on time delivery, continuous improvement, hiring, performance management, and programs such as FOD (foreign object debris) management and 5S. As the team lead you will meet with every team member on a regular basis to discuss their development, performance, personal and team challenges, to coach team members on career development, and to solicit feedback on your performance and the work environment generally.How You Will Contribute To Revolutionizing Electric AviationLead daily team meetingsHelp to guide the team to make good decisions with limited resourcesMeet regularly with team members to encourage growth and address challengesHire and make staffing decision for the production teamManage staff schedule to ensure due dates are met and training opportunities are providedCoach team members on performance and career developmentAssist in problem-solving on production and R&D parts and assembliesUse ERP system to track production KPIs, track and move material, schedule work, solve problemsProvide first response to any and all challenges on the production lineHelp team members to manage their time, including time spent on manufacturing-related projectsIdentify challenges, suggest and help implement solutionsManage programs like FOD (foreign object debris) awareness and 5SMinimum QualificationsFive years of manufacturing, at least one year of manufacturing leadership preferredExperience working in a manufacturing environment that leverages Lean principles such as 5SAbility to diagnose and solve complex problems using all available tools and assistanceInterest and ability to learn new skills and subject matter to stay ahead of new challenges, designs, and processesUnderstanding of different manufacturing processesAbility to lead a team of skilled production techniciansAbility to quickly pivot and to make good decisions to help meet challenging deadlinesAbility to suggest and implement creative solutions to novel problemsAbove And Beyond QualificationsThree years or more of leadership in manufacturingExperience creating or implementing a 5S programExperience in the Aviation industry, electrical vehicle industry or a similar fieldExperience configuring and working with an Enterprise Resource Planning System such as PLEXExperience with high-voltage systemsExperience in an R&D or startup manufacturing environmentExperience with CADExperience designing or managing the design and development of tools, jigs, and fixturesExperience developing or writing work instructionsExperience with digital work instructionsExperience with smart digital toolsPhysical Demands And Work EnvironmentLift 50lbsSeated or standing desk on the production floorThe wage listed here reflects our best faith estimate for this role. We pay competitively and base compensation on a variety of factors including skills, experience, industry background, and the evolving needs of the role.
