Machinist 1st Shift

Work is performed from written and verbal instructions, schematics, manuals, and work orders.Principal Duties & Responsibilities:MACHINIST (include, but are not limited to)Familiarity and ability to use basic measuring devices, such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, Rockwell hardness testers, etc.Identify basic types of metals.Read basic blueprints.Stick welding and cuttingOperate pedestal grinder as well as selection of grinding wheel, and perform basic operations such as sharpening hand tools and drill bits.Familiarity with capabilities and basic set-up and operation of basic machine shop equipment.Understand math required to perform machinist functions.Machine repairs such as simple shafting, bore gears, pulley, make bushings, keyways, guide rollers and other items to make equipment repairs.Conduct visual, mechanical, and dimensional inspections of products to ensure conformance to specificationsUse precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify tolerancesTroubleshoot and resolve basic mechanical issues to minimize downtimeAssist with installation, inspection, and preventative maintenance of production equipmentRead and interpret schematics, manuals, drawings, and technical documentationIdentify and report equipment malfunctions or quality concerns promptlyMaintain accurate production, quality, and maintenance documentationMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with safety policiesFollow all lockout/tagout and safety procedures during setup and maintenance activitiesParticipate in cross training and support team operations as neededRespond effectively to unexpected equipment issues in a fast paced production environmentInsurance Benefits:Medical, Dental & Vision InsurancePaid Basic Life/AD&D InsuranceSupplemental Life/ AD&D InsuranceShort-term DisabilityAccident InsuranceCritical Illness InsuranceHospital Indemnity InsuranceFlu shots (paid)EAPFinancial Benefits:401K Company ContributionEmployee Stock OwnershipSafety Shoe Allowance2nd Shift & 3rd Shift PremiumPaid Vacation12 paid holidaysPaid Parental LeaveQualifications:High school diploma or GED.Ability to prioritize, work independently, and maintain close attention to detail.Ability to read/use precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers).Mechanical aptitude and basic computer literacy.Strong English skills in reading, writing, and verbal communication.Willingness to work overtime as needed and function effectively in a team environment.Ability to pass a background check, drug test, and physical.Preferred:Prior manufacturing experience; extrusion/wire drawing/cabling experience a plus.3+ years machining / tool and die experience (plant environment) desirable.
