Electrical Engineer
ResponsibilitiesJOB SUMMARYThe H-E-B Electrical Engineer is responsible for the overall strategic design and implementation of the facility's Electrical power, communication and lighting systems.KEY RESPONSIBILITY & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Provides leadership and expertise for entry and intermediate team membersPerforms field site visits and inspections to formulate scope of work and to review construction progress to ensure conformance with design drawings, specifications, applicable codes and company policiesAnalyzes design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designLeads the design efforts of H-E-B consulting engineers and provides quality control of design documentsContributes to decisions related to H-E-B strategic objectives, program standards and budget planningThe responsibilities and essential functions outlined above describe the general nature and level of work assigned to this position. Works independently, receiving general instructions on new assignments, and a review of outcomes for technical soundness. Possesses complete knowledge of role. Applies a broad range of theories, concepts, principles, and methodologies to assignments containing some elements of complexity. Majority of work is spent both independently planning and completing the design, implementation, and/or delivery of processes, programs, and/or policies.May coach, direct, oversee, or review the work of lower-level professionals.Networks with more senior internal and external stakeholders who may be unfamiliar with the area of specialty.Bachelor's degree or additional role-relevant experience. 5+ years of relevant experience preferred.MEP Engineering or related experienceStrong understanding of engineering calculations, building systems and their coordination / integration (structural, architectural, MEPR), building codes, environmental regulations, handicap accessibility codes and their direct application, sanitation concerns / regulations, dynamics / application of site and landscape design, appropriate materials use / methods of construction, and specifications and criteria developmentProject management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between projects regularlyComputer application / software skills, including AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, PowerPoint, Visual, AGI, SKM, ETAPAbility to work with cross functional internal teams including Construction, Real Estate and ProcurementProficient in Electrical Design for H-E-B FacilitiesBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering-Professional engineer's license in the state of Texas (preferred)PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS:Function in a fast-paced, office environmentTravel by car or plane with overnight staysWork extended hours and / or rotating schedulesThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Partner encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
