We work fast, we work hands-on, and we bring in interns who are ready to contribute, not observe. ROLE DESCRIPTIONBuilding Momentum is hiring Prototype Engineering Interns for Summer 2026. This is a paid, 10-week, full-time internship embedded within our active project teams. Interns work directly on live client contracts and company R&D initiatives; there are no busy-work assignments or isolated practice projects here.You will be placed on a project team from day one and are expected to contribute meaningfully to real company work. Responsibility grows as you demonstrate capability. This is a professional paid role, not a classroom exercise.WHAT YOU'LL WORK ONDepending on the projects in flight when you start, you may contribute to:•    Rapid prototyping builds for corporate and military clients•    Technology integration projects involving sensors, electronics, and embedded systems•    Makerspace fabrication using 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC tools, and hand tools•    STEM education curriculum design and training program development•    R&D engineering initiatives and design iteration cycles•    Client-facing deliverables that are reviewed, tested, and deployed in the real worldQUALIFICATIONSRequired:•    Currently enrolled in an engineering undergraduate degree program•    Genuine interest in engineering, fabrication, prototyping, or technology•    Ability to follow direction, take feedback, and complete tasks reliably•    Strong work ethic and willingness to contribute in a fast-paced professional environment•    Ability to work on-site full-time in Alexandria, VA for 10 weeksPreferred (not required):•    Exposure to 3D printing, CAD software, electronics, or fabrication tools•    Relevant coursework in engineering, computer science, or a related STEM field•    Prior hands-on experience in a lab, shop, or technical environment•    Experience with project documentation, curriculum design, or instructional development•    Prior internship or research experience in a technical settingWHAT YOU'LL GAIN•    Real contributions to live client projects, not practice work•    Technical skills: 3D printing, CAD, electronics, rapid prototyping, and technology integration•    Professional skills: project management, client communication, documentation, and teamwork•    Competitive pay from day one•    Certificate of completion and letter of recommendation•    Strong performers eligible for return offer or full-time considerationwww.buildmo.com | Alexandria, VirginiaBuilding Momentum - Build.
