Job Description Job Title: Correctional Clinical Mental Health TherapistJob Overview:The Correctional Clinical Mental Health Therapist will be responsible for offering a range of psychological services to inmates in a correctional facility. This includes assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and therapy. The therapist will work in a multidisciplinary team to support the mental and emotional well-being of inmates, facilitating their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.Key Responsibilities:1. **Assessment and Diagnosis:**- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for inmates, including risk assessments.- Diagnose mental health conditions using DSM-V criteria.2. **Treatment Planning and Implementation:**- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.- Provide individual and group therapy sessions focusing on issues such as substance abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety, and behavioral disorders.3. **Crisis Intervention:**- Respond to mental health crises within the facility.- Implement de-escalation techniques and crisis management interventions.4. **Collaboration and Coordination:**- Work closely with correctional staff, medical professionals, and external agencies to provide comprehensive care.- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss treatment plans and progress.5. **Documentation and Compliance:**- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all clinical interactions.- Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and institutional policies.6. **Continuing Education and Training:**- Stay updated with current best practices in correctional mental health.- Provide training and support to correctional staff on mental health issues.Qualifications:- Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field.- Licensed as a Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), MFT, LPCC- Experience in a correctional or forensic setting is preferred.- Strong understanding of the DSM-V and mental health diagnoses.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
