Laser CNC Operator
Location: Devens, MA
Compensation: $30-$40/hr
Shift Details: 1st Shift, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Role Overview
Our Marking Department is looking for a skilled Laser CNC Operator to manage the setup and operation of our laser machinery. You will play a vital role in ensuring that all components are produced to exact dimensional standards through precise machine adjustments and diligent oversight.
Primary Duties
Configure and run CNC laser systems.
Analyze technical drawings and geometric dimensioning requirements.
Perform necessary modifications to machine settings and programs.
Apply knowledge of G-code and fundamental CNC programming logic.
Utilize mathematical calculations to adjust, scale, and convert program files.
Optimize production by managing material properties, power settings, and feed rates.
Support the production team by properly utilizing vices, V-blocks, and rotary fixtures.
Ensure high-quality output by verifying parts with precision measuring tools and microscopic inspection.
Help maintain consistent quality standards across all manufactured components.
Follow detailed visual and written procedures to ensure accuracy in every task.
Contribute to efficient production schedules by managing daily job flow.
Required Qualifications
Proven background in the setup and operation of CNC laser systems.
Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and geometric tolerances.
Competency in vector-based design software and manipulation.
Working knowledge of G-code programming and machine configuration.
Demonstrated commitment to maintaining high quality and attention to detail.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder to meet ITAR requirements.
Desired Background
Experience with software such as AutoCAD, AlphaCAM, SolidWorks, CorelDRAW, or Adobe Illustrator.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and AS400 systems.
Background in utilizing various manufacturing software platforms.
Proficiency in the use of precision measurement instrumentation.
Physical Demands
Capacity to remain seated for long durations while operating machinery with your hands.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds and move around the workspace.
Capability to maintain sharp depth, color, and peripheral vision for detailed tasks.
Comfort working in an environment that may occasionally contain airborne particles or fumes.
