Patient Service RepresentativeAmerican Family Care (AFC) is one of the largest primary and urgent care companies in the U.S. providing services seven days a week on a walk-in basis. Our state-of-the-art centers focus on the episodic treatment of acute illnesses and injuries, workers' compensation, and occupational medicine. Each location is equipped with an onsite lab and in-house x-ray capability. This position works directly with a franchised business location. The specific job duties and benefits can vary between franchises. The Patient Service Representative (PSR) plays a critical role in delivering an exceptional patient experience. This position is responsible for managing front desk operations, patient registration, insurance verification, and coordinating patient flow in a fast-paced urgent care setting. Key ResponsibilitiesGreet and check in patients in a friendly, professional manner Manage patient flow and communicate wait times effectively Provide excellent customer service to ensure a positive patient experience Verify patient demographics and insurance eligibility Accurately enter patient information into EMR (Experity preferred) Explain visit costs, co-pays, and billing policies Collect co-pays, deductibles, and self-pay balances Maintain daily cash drawer and ensure accurate reconciliation Answer phones, schedule appointments, and respond to inquiries Scan and upload documents into patient records Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality Support clinical team with administrative needs Ensure front desk area is organized and efficient QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent 1+ year of customer service, front desk, or administrative experience Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Experience in urgent care, medical office, or healthcare setting Knowledge of insurance verification and medical terminology Experience with EMR systems (Experity is a plus) Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred Compensation: $16.00 per hour American Family Care has pioneered the concept of convenient, patient-centric healthcare.
