Commercial HVAC/R Technician

Job Description We are hiring a skilled Commercial Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, and Cooking Equipment Technician for field service work. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical ability and hands‐on experience installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial refrigeration and air‐conditioning systems and related kitchen equipment.Key Responsibilities:Install, troubleshoot, service, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems (rooftop units, walk‐ins, condensers, compressors, ice machines, reach‐ins).Service and repair commercial kitchen equipment (ovens, ranges, fryers, hoods, exhaust systems) as required.Perform preventive maintenance, system performance checks, leak detection, charging, and evacuation.Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant system issues; replace parts and components as needed.Complete accurate service reports, parts requests, and customer documentation.Maintain compliance with safety standards, local codes, and EPA refrigerant handling rules.Communicate professionally with customers and coordinate with dispatch/management.Required Qualifications:5+ years commercial HVAC/R field experience (or equivalent).Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.EPA 608 certification required.Proficient with gauges, multimeter, leak detectors, vacuum pumps, and recovery machines.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; willingness to travel to job sites.Good communication, customer service, and time‐management skills.Preferred:Vocational/technical training in HVAC/R.Experience with commercial kitchen equipment and NFPA/food‐service codes.Refrigerant recovery certification and familiarity with R‐410A, R‐404A/R‐448A/R‐449A, etc.Ability to read schematics and blueprints.Working Conditions:Fieldwork in commercial kitchens, rooftops, and walk‐in coolers/freezers.Physically demanding tasks: lifting, climbing, confined spaces.On‐call and emergency response as needed.Compensation & Benefits:Up to $2,000 sign-on bonus (amount based on experience and terms; paid after completion of probationary period).Competitive pay based on experience + overtime and call‐out pay.Tool allowance or company vehicle (depending on role).Health insurance, paid time off, training and certification support, retirement options.
