Job Overview We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to handle cash and operate a Point of Sale (POS) system effectively. A background in grocery store operations is preferred, along with experience in retail sales and merchandising. Duties Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions with accuracy. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product selection. Process sales transactions efficiently using the POS system. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring all merchandise is properly displayed. Assist with stocking shelves and merchandising products to enhance store appearance. Conduct product demos to promote new items and encourage upselling opportunities. Supervise junior staff members when necessary, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Utilize basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations. Communicate effectively with customers and team members to foster a positive shopping experience. Skills Proficiency in operating POS systems and handling cash transactions. Previous supervising experience is a plus for managing team dynamics. Ability to conduct product demonstrations to engage customers effectively. Bilingual skills are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases. Strong phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone. Experience in upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities. Knowledge of merchandising principles to maintain appealing displays. Familiarity with stocking procedures to ensure product availability on shelves. Background in retail sales, particularly within grocery store settings, is preferred. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers and colleagues.
