DescriptionAs a Line Cook, a typical day might include the following:Preparing, portioning, and garnishing foods in accordance with company recipes, cooking methods and portion sizesCooking and carving meats. You would also prepare dishes and saucesSetting up, maintaining, and cleaning stations in practicing good safety, sanitation and organizational skills while adhering to restaurant guidelinesEnsuring quality and safety of food by performing standard and any additional sanitary measures including good personal hygiene, cleaning of surfaces and sweeping of floors, as well as proper covering and storage of food items according to standards and proceduresObserving safety and security procedures, determining appropriate action beyond guidelines and report potentially unsafe conditionsRestocking all items as needed throughout the shiftOther duties as assignedRequirementsThis job might be for you if you demonstrate the following abilities and meet the following qualifications:At least 1 year previous experience in a fast-paced, upscale bar/restaurantExperience with Asian cuisine and/or sushi a plusFood Safety Certification a plusA neat and professional appearanceAbility to work in a high volume/fast-paced work environmentProper knowledge of use and maintenance of all equipment in stationAbility to work at efficient and consistent paceAbility to follow directionsAbility to communicate effectively and accurately with co-workersAbility to demonstrate teamwork with other staff membersAbility to work on your feet for extended periods of timePhysical Demands / Work Environment / HoursThe physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
