Mercy Health seeks people that are committed to our values of compassion, human dignity, integrity, service and stewardship to create an environment where associates want to work and help communities thrive.Registered Nurse (RN) – Infusion – St. Joseph Cancer Care CenterJob SummaryThe Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient statusImplementing clinical nursing interventionsHaving a highly diverse medical skillsetDeveloping and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomesEnsuring a safe and therapeutic environmentEssential FunctionsConducts and analyzes initial and ongoing patient assessment, creates plan of care, implements treatments and evaluates treatment effectivenessRestores, supports, promotes, rehabilitates, or palliates to maintain the physiologic, psychologic and psychosocial stability of patients across the lifespanAdministers chemotherapy and other medication, starts IV's, transfuses blood and blood products and performs therapeutic phlebotomiesAnticipates and responds with confidence and adapts to rapidly changing patient conditionsAssists in creating an environment that promotes educational growth opportunities for nursing peersOther duties as assignedEducationGraduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in NursingCertificationsCurrent state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care; ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support acceptable in lieu of BLS)ONS Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy Certification (required within 6 months of hire)ExperienceOne (1) year of medical/surgical or oncology experience (preferred, not required) TrainingEPIC Electronic Health Record training (preferred, not required)As a Mercy Health associate, you're part of a Mission that matters.
