Software Engineering Intern (REQ 299)

Applied Physical Sciences (APS) is seeking a software Engineer Intern for a full-time internship. Successful applicants will be highly motivated, innovative, self-starters with strong analytical, and problem-solving skills, and will be enrolled in a certified degree program working towards a BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related degree.APS works on exciting, technically challenging, research & development programs where multidisciplinary teams work closely to address difficult national security needs. This position will allow applicants to collaborate with subject matter experts and make meaningful contributions to project teams and their objectives. It will give applicants exposure to all parts of the R&D process, from first-principle analysis through to prototyping and testing of integrated systems.Some Specific Skills Of Interest IncludeProficient in C/C++ and Python for the Windows and Linux operating systemsExperience with MATLAB and ability to convert MATLAB code to C/C++Working knowledge of embedded firmware development for microcontrollers, DSPs or FPGAs, is not required but preferredWorking knowledge of software middleware, such as Protocol BuffersWorking toward a BS or MS in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, physics or related fieldAPS, a wholly owned subsidiary of the General Dynamics Corporation, offers competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and comfortable working conditions.
