Akkodis is seeking a Software Engineer - React for a Contract position with a client located in Sunnyvale, CA, or Austin, TX (5 days/week onsite).Pay Range: $50/hr - $55/hr. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factorsMust be local to Sunnyvale, CA, or Austin, TX.NO C2C candidates here, W2 only.We are looking for a React software Engineer with 4+ years of experience. Familiarity with GO, C++, or Java for backend development. Must have Node.js. Nice to haves would include container management like Docker, Kubernetes, or similar.Job Description:This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting technical impact by bringing a foundational system up to modern standards, ensuring its reliability and longevity for the teams that depend on it every day.What You'll Do:Lead and execute the full-stack modernization of Axiom, including upgrading core runtime and framework dependencies (Node.js, React-Bootstrap, Go)Audit and update a broad ecosystem of associated dependencies (Relay, GraphQL, Yarn, CORS, Go DEP, and others)Collaborate with partner teams who rely on Axiom to understand product, suite, role, and test relationships — ensuring zero disruption to Field Diagnostic and Repair operationsWrite clean, maintainable, and well-tested code across the frontend and backendIdentify and address technical debt, and document upgrade paths for future maintainabilityPartner with the Systems team to validate that configuration generation pipelines remain stable throughout the modernization processWhat We're Looking For:B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experienceStrong proficiency with React and modern frontend development practicesHands-on experience with Node.js and package management tooling (npm / Yarn)Familiarity with Go, C++, or Java for backend developmentSolid understanding of software dependency management and upgrade strategiesA track record of working on complex, long-lived codebases with real production impactStrong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams with varying technical backgroundsNice to Have:Experience with container management (Docker, Kubernetes, or similar)Familiarity with database design and managementExperience in modernizing or migrating legacy systems in a production environmentComfort working with GraphQL and RelayIf you are interested in this role, then please click APPLY NOW.
