Fitness Center Receptionist and Rehab Aide

FITNESS CENTER RECEPTIONIST AND REHAB AIDE Jericho Road Community Health Center is actively seeking a Physical Therapy and Fitness Center Receptionist and Rehab Aide. This position is part-time, within the Fitness Center Front Office, working at our 1021 location in the Fitness Center. Responsibilities:Greet and welcome patients, staff, and visitors to the gym and wellness centerRespond to patients' questions and concerns of all gym and wellness center guestsInput members in gym software, check in members, verify members are active, and assist with billing tasks.Collect, confirm, and input all insurance informationPractice high level of ethical behavior while interacting with patients and staffCollect and fees for gym memberships and physical therapy copaymentsMaintain and transmit correspondence or medical records, by mail, phone, email, or faxAssist patients in identifying and overcoming any barriers to attending appointments, such as transportation or financial constraints.Coordinate with insurance providers, if necessary, to clarify coverage and guide patients through payment options or financial assistance programs.Schedule initial evaluations, re-evaluations, follow-up appointments, and appointmentsInterview patients to complete documents, case histories, or formsInput prior authorization requirements into Physical Therapy referralsCoordinating with patients, physical therapists, and physical therapist assistants to ensure timely care and availability.Conduct follow-up calls or communications to ensure patients are following through with their therapy plans and answer any questions regarding their progress or next steps.Protects patients' rights by maintain confidentiality of personal and financial information remaining compliant with all HIPAA guidelinesAssisting patients with exercises and activities as directed by therapistsHelping patients move to and from therapy areasSetting up and cleaning up facility, therapy, and gym equipmentMonitoring and documenting patients' progressMaintaining a clean and safe environment for patientsAssisting therapists with the preparation of treatment plansProviding emotional support and encouragement to patientsReceive and route messages or documents to appropriate staffProvide visible communications regarding operational changesEnsure patient has active referrals and checking/processing patient prior authorizations accurately. Work diligently in a timely fashion in assisting patients and closing/responding to triages appropriately.Utilize interpretation services for patients that require interpretationBe responsible for opening and/or closing tasks with the gym and wellness center.Coordinate with instructors at the gym of class times and maintain class attendanceMaintain up to date data on the prior authorization requirement document quarterly Qualifications: High School graduate or GED equivalentAt least one year working in an office settingDirect experience in a primary care setting preferredExperience or working knowledge of EMR systems (MEDENT experience desired) Hourly Rate: $18.00-19.00 an hour. Individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other position related components.
