The candidate will be responsible for teaching in these areas and for developing new courses that will appeal to students in the candidate's areas of specialty. The faculty will be expected to teach in the History Department, as well as the University's interdisciplinary programs like the Chicago Quarter, Honors, and the First Year Program. Qualifications:The candidate must have a PhD in history or a related field required by September 2026. The department seeks excellence in instruction, research, and service and seeks someone who will look forward to taking on administrative responsibilities at some point in their careers. Classes in Autumn, Winter, and Spring quarters are 11 weeks in length (including finals week) and Summer courses, in two sessions, are typically 5 weeks in length. The College of Law operates on the semester system.
