CFO/Business Manager

Job Description:The Gilbert School in Winsted CT is seeking qualified candiates to apply for the position of School Business Manager.Full-time position, Monday-Friday 7:30am - 3:30 pm. Work hours during summer and school vacation hours adjusted. Medical, dental, and life insurance benefits available. Participation in school's retirement account as per contract. Paid vacation days and holidays.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, minimumThree (3) years of Accounting experienceStrong computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Google docs,etcSuch other qualifications of academic, professional, an/or personal experienceDuties & Responsiblities:Manage, monitor & report fiscal condition of school accountsDaily financial accounting for school accounts including accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial reports, fixed assets, etcBudget preparation with Head of School, department chairmen, teachersMonitor budget expenditures, account balancesWork closely with School Purchasing AgentPersonnel areas including payroll, retirement accounts, insurance benefits, year-end forms, familiarity with COBRA, FMLA, CT FML laws, etcAttendance at monthly Board meetings and Finance Committee meetings, some of which will extend beyond the normal workday hoursMonitor insurance information re: athletic injuries and/or workmen's compensation issuesMonitor grants income and expenses for schoolMaintain familiarity with union contracts, including but not limited to salaries, employment benefits, etcPreparation of year end paperwork, reports and documents for annual School audit.Additional duties as assigned by the Head of SchoolSalary Range:Pursuant to experience and credentials- $70,000-$90,000.Interested candidates should complete on-line application, submit resume, letter of intent, three(3) letters of reference.
