Responsibilities
The Mechanic is responsible for technical and service-related maintenance and service on a range of industrial printing equipment. This job may include any aspect of equipment support, including hardware, software, PC's, and wireless networking. The Mechanic will provide technical support to all printing equipment and determine the most cost-effective repair/resolution to minimize downtime.
Provide service and maintenance on all printing equipment in the facility
Prioritize issues to resolve urgent incidents in a timely manner
Be available to provide support to the facility outside of regular working hours if necessary
Troubleshoot complex issues with equipment
Work collaboratively with plant and management teams to find solutions to problems
Encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact-based problem solving.
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED, Associates degree preferred
Mechanical or technical training a plus
2+ years’ experience as a mechanic and/or servicing industrial printing equipment
General knowledge of print production
Ability to use hand tools and power tools to repair and maintain equipment
Ability to climb ladders if necessary, to repair and maintain equipment
Strong attention to detail, problem solving abilities and strategic thinking
Work Environment / Physical Demands
Ability to stand for 8 to 12 hours and walk 3 hours
Lift up to 50 lbs
Intermittent bending up to 3 hours (neck, waist, twisting waist)
Intermittent squatting up to 3 hours
Repetitive hand movement up to 8 to 12 hours including:
Simple grasping, hand manipulation, pushing/pulling
Reach above and below shoulder height
