Proposal Writer

Overview In this role you drive federal proposal development and management, guiding cross-functional teams to craft compliant, compelling responses. You’ll shape strategies, oversee outline design, and coordinate multi-volume proposals to meet customer needs. Work with volume leads to ensure compatibility and lead the red/ Pink Team review process to strengthen the final submission. This position combines leadership, writing, and program-management to support DoD and public-sector opportunities. ResponsibilitiesAssist Capture/Sales Team Leader in directing all proposal efforts and staffDevelop and review proposal strategies and the Proposal Management Plan (PMP)Direct creation and review of the proposal outline for design and controlAnalyze RFP/bid requirements against the outline to ensure compliance and responsivenessBuild the proposal compliance matrix and track all requirementsReview storyboards and sections to ensure requirements are addressed and page limits respectedConduct regular proposal progress meetings and maintain the scheduleDevelop Pink Team (storyboard review) plan for interim evaluation of approachesDirect writing/editing/rewriting activities as neededCoordinate with Volume Leaders to ensure inter-volume compatibilityDevelop Red Team plan for final review and ensure integration of commentsDirect the Proposal Coordinator in all development and production activitiesOther duties as directed by the Business Development/Capture Manager Key requirementsBachelor degree in Technical field, English, Communication, or related areaUp to five years of experience in development and production of Federal proposalsStrong writing and organizational skillsTeam player with ability to lead and motivate teams in a high-pressure environmentAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint) with working knowledge of Excel, Visio and MS ProjectFlexibility to work nights and weekends to meet proposal deadlinesFamiliarity with Shipley or related proposal development methodologyteam leadershipstrong written communicationhigh-pressure collaborationMicrosoft WordMicrosoft PowerPointExcel
