Design Engineer - Firearms & Defense - Stratham, NH

This Senior Design Engineer develops new firearms and accessories while driving improvements to existing products. The role delivers technical leadership through advanced engineering analysis, collaboration, and problem‐solving across the full product lifecycle. It supports a wide range of defense and commercial customers while maintaining strong commitments to safety and quality. Description This Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for: Leading development of new firearms and related products to meet requirements and cost targets Generating and checking drawings for GD&T, ASME Y14.5, and tolerance stack compliance Completing complex analyses including FEA, motion, CFD, or heat transfer Processing engineering change orders and maintaining accurate BOMs Coordinating and reviewing testing, validating conclusions and documentation Driving DFM efforts and collaborating with Manufacturing to meet cost and quality standards Managing intellectual property activities such as patent searches and trade studies Advancing continuous improvement efforts and sustaining 5S practices Profile A successful Design Engineer applicant will: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 7-10 years R&D engineering experience Proficiency in advanced analysis tools such as FEA, motion, CFD, and heat transfer Strong CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred) and PLM experience Skilled in GD&T, ASME Y14.5, and tolerance stack analysis Strong communication skills and ability to guide less‐experienced engineers Practical experience with mechanical assembly and complex problem‐solving Familiarity with relevant regulatory standards preferred Job Offer High‐impact design leadership role Access to advanced engineering tools and technologies Collaboration across design, manufacturing, and testing functions Opportunities for growth within a precision‐driven organization Culture centered on innovation, safety, and continuous improvement Competitive compensation package PTO, healthcare, etc. MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
