Role: Senior Python / Agentic AI EngineerLocation: USA-CA-SAN FRANCISCO-333 Market St-102557Schedule: Hybrid – approximately 3 days onsite/weekPreferred Onsite Days: Monday, Wednesday & Thursday with flexibilityInterview: In-person interview requiredWe need Locals OnlyRole OverviewSeeking a hands-on Senior Python / Agentic AI Engineer to join a highly visible Consumer Technology – Marketing Technology initiative focused on building and scaling greenfield Agentic AI solutions.The team is developing AI agents that orchestrate and automate marketing campaign activities. This is primarily a hands-on coding role, with engineers focused on building, enhancing, deploying, and supporting production AI agents.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop scalable Agentic AI applications and backend services.Build high-performance applications using Python, FastAPI, AsyncIO, and microservices architecture.Design, develop, and integrate REST APIs and distributed backend services.Develop multi-agent workflows, RAG solutions, prompt orchestration, tool calling, and LLM routing.Build solutions using MongoDB, vector databases, embeddings, and semantic search.Implement scalable, highly available, fault-tolerant AI systems.Optimize application performance, database queries, caching, latency, accuracy, and cost.Implement enterprise AI governance, guardrails, PII protection, monitoring, and audit logging.Collaborate closely with developers and architects in an Agile development environment.Required Qualifications5+ years – Python software development5+ years – Microservices architecture5+ years – REST API development/integration5+ years – MongoDBStrong backend engineering and distributed systems experience.Experience with FastAPI, AsyncIO, multiprocessing, performance tuning, and caching.Experience with high-availability and fault-tolerant application design.2+ years of Agentic AI experience preferred.Experience with LLMs, Generative AI, RAG, and AI orchestration frameworks.Experience with vector databases, embeddings, semantic retrieval, and re-ranking.Preferred AI/Data ExperienceMulti-agent workflow designHybrid/Knowledge Graph RAGPrompt engineering and orchestrationLLM tool calling and routingModel evaluation and hallucination detectionHuman-in-the-loop validationText-to-SQL and schema-aware promptingKafka and streaming data pipelinesAI governance and Responsible AIRecommendation systems and model feedback loopsProject HighlightsThe team has already developed 6 AI agents and is entering its next phase of scaling and enhancement, with a long-term roadmap of 20+ agents.
