Job#: 3033354Job Description:Position SummaryThe Vice President of Finance is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the company, ensuring fiscal integrity, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning. This role reports directly to the operating company’s President to drive business performance and supports the holding company through alignment with broader corporate financial strategy and reporting requirements. The VP of Finance will lead budgeting, forecasting, program finance, and financial reporting and compliance while providing actionable insights to support growth and profitability.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership & StrategyServe as a strategic advisor to the President on financial planning, business performance, and growth initiativesAlign divisional financial strategy with corporate objectives in coordination with the CFOLead long-range financial planning, scenario modeling, and investment analysisFinancial OperationsOversee all accounting, financial reporting, and internal controlsEnsure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processesManage cash flow, working capital, and financial riskGovernment Contracting ComplianceEnsure compliance with FAR, CAS, DCAA, and other applicable federal regulationsOversee incurred cost submissions, audit support, and rate development (provisional and final)Maintain strong internal controls aligned with government contracting requirementsBudgeting & ForecastingLead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts across all departments and programsPartner with program managers to monitor contract performance, revenue recognition, and profitabilityProvide variance analysis and actionable recommendationsProgram Finance & Business PartnershipSupport program management and proposal teams with financial insights, pricing strategies, and cost controlReview and approve pricing models for proposals and contract bidsDrive financial accountability across business unitsTeam LeadershipLead and develop a high-performing finance and accounting teamFoster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaborationBuild scalable processes and systems to support company growthSystems & Process ImprovementEvaluate and enhance financial systems, tools, and reporting capabilitiesDrive automation and efficiency in financial operationsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field12+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership roleStrong experience in government contracting, including deep knowledge of FAR, CAS, and DCAA requirementsProven ability to lead financial planning and analysis in a project-based or services environmentExperience working with executive leadership and supporting strategic decision-makingStrong analytical, communication, and leadership skillsPreferred ExperienceCertified Public AccountantBackground in IT services, defense, or federal contracting industriesExperience in companies with 100–500 employeesFamiliarity with ERP systems such as Deltek CostpointKey CompetenciesStrategic thinking and business acumenIntegrity and accountabilityOperational excellenceLeadership and team developmentCommunication and executive presenceEverforth Apex is a world-class IT services company that serves thousands of clients across the globe.
