Plastics Processing Engineer

Job Description:Provide support for customers in all packaging related processing topicsSet-up Injection molding machines for mold trials/tests/run-offsEstablish robust, repeatable process parameters/processesUse strong problem solving skills to troubleshoot molds, machines, auxiliary equipment, and processesTrouble shoot process-related issues in the lab as well as at customer sitesParticipate in activities pertaining to cycle time and process improvements at the customer siteProvide start up support at customer site to ensure timely start of productionDesign and execute DOE to establish new processes and for R&D workReview processing methodsImplement statistical process analysis on new and existing productsDevelop and maintain process documentationAssist in the development of training and provide process training at the customerProvide equipment maintenance and repair support as requiredMaintain the work area and equipment in a clean and organized fashion that follows all required safety policies and regulationsRequirements:Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in community college or technical school trainingPossession of an RJG Master Molder Certificate or AIM certification a definite plusMinimum of 10 years of hands on injection molding experienceThorough understanding of mold setup, molding machine operation as well as mold design/functionHands-on experience with mold debug, developing a robust process and process trouble shooting is a must.Knowledge of polymer materials and operating parameters is necessaryWillingness to work and follow instructions, with a cooperative attitude toward internal and external customersDemonstrated ability to work alone and in a team environment with changing assignmentsFamiliarity with MS Windows and Office environment, SAP experience preferredBenefits:health, dental and vision insurance all upon first day of hire (no waiting period and very robust coverage at an affordable price)401k with matchover 3 weeks PTOemployer paid life insurancelong and short-term disabilityemployee-centric environment
