The Rope Access Technician is responsible for carrying out standard rope access operations to perform maintenance, repairs, and other industrial work tasks on industrial petrol/chemical equipment while on ropes. The Technician must have the ability to perform work that is physically demanding, have good communication skills and the ability to assimilate a large amount of new information. Responsibilities may also include rescue operations, technical reports, and administrative tasks.Essential Qualifications:Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalentIRATA / SPRAT Level I, II, or III certificationCurrent TWIC Card RequiredMust be NCCER CertifiedMust have a capacity for work at heightAbility to lift and carry 75 poundsValid Driver's LicenseAbility to pass a background check and drug testMust possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skillsPost-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluationCPR certificationJob site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplaceFunctional Requirements:Uses Industrial Rope Access methods and related equipment to access and complete a wide variety of maintenance, repairs and other industrial work tasks while on ropes or in difficult access areasMaintains a safe, secure and healthy environment by adhering to the IRATA/SPRAT standards and practicesEnsures team members utilize proper personal protective equipmentDisplays a healthy respect for heights and follows all OSHA, site specific and company's safety proceduresParticipates in required training and maintains a working understanding of rope access safe working practicesInspects and verifies rope access systems and components before useRecognizes worksite hazards and notifies the Rope Access Supervisor of any unsafe conditionsMaintains proficiency at rescue techniques and assist in rescues as directed and in accordance with certification levelPerforms physical activities that require considerably use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, and walkingTurner Industries is an equal employment opportunity employer.
