ResponsibilitiesProtect U.S. TikTok users, including and beyond content consumers, creators, and advertisersSecure platform health and community experience authenticityBuild infrastructures, platforms, and technologies, and collaborate with many cross-functional teams and stakeholdersBuild rules, algorithms, and machine learning models to respond to and mitigate business risks in TikTok products and platforms (e.g., abusive accounts, fake engagements, spammy redirection, scraping, fraud)Analyze business and security data, uncover evolving attack motions, and identify weaknesses and opportunities in risk-defense solutionsDefine risk-control measurements, quantify, generalize, and monitor risk-related business and operational metrics, and align risk teams and stakeholders on numeric goalsThe PaCI team works to minimize the damage of inauthentic behaviors on TikTok platforms, covering multiple classical and novel community and business risk areas such as account integrity, engagement authenticity, anti-spam, API abuse, growth fraud, live-streaming security and financial safety.In this team, you will have first-hand exposure to the company's strategy in key security initiatives, especially in building scalable, robust, intelligent, privacy-safe, secure, and product-friendly systems and solutions. Our challenges are not regular day-to-day technical puzzles – you'll be part of a team developing novel solutions to unprecedented challenges in a constantly evolving ecosystem. The work needs to be fast, transferable, and grounded to make quick, solid differences.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree or higher in computer science, statistics, math, internet security, or other relevant STEM majors (e.g., finance for financial fraud roles)Solid data science skills, proficiency in SQL, R, and PythonAbility to think critically, objectively, and rationally; communicate results in a data-driven manner; high autonomyPreferred QualificationsFamiliarity with machine learning or social/content online platform analytics; bonus for proficiency in modern machine learning applicationsPassion for data and uncovering insightsAbility to turn data into a storyJob InformationThe base salary range for this position in the selected city is $136,800 – $228,000 annually. Compensation may vary outside this range depending on factors such as qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the total package; the role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units.Benefits may vary depending on employment nature and country location. Employees have day-one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, and more.
