QUALITY ENGINEER- Some travel REQUIREDPay: $47,000.00 - $65,000.00 per yearHours: Full timeJob description:The Quality Engineer position requires split time between offices and production floor, typically 60/40, respectively. This can vary in either direction based on general operations and priorities. Roles/ responsibilities include Tucson, AZ and Chandler, AZ locations. Travel to Chandler location is typically 1 day per month.Job Responsibilities:Core QA Functions:Ability to lead RCCA efforts & provide prompt responses to customer complaints5-Why analysis8D / problem solvingContainment/ impact evaluationAbility to perform internal audits and facilitate 3rd party/ customer auditsFamiliarity with operating procedures/ process control documentsFamiliarity with measurement units/systems, including precision scale (Microns, “mils”, Thousandths)Technical Specifications & Manufacturing Drawings:Ability to read and understand technical documents, manuals, specificationsDetail-oriented and able to follow cross-references between multiple specificationsAbility to gather applicable requirements from specifications, and translate them into process control documents/ work instructionsBasic GD&T knowledge, and ability to read manufacturing drawings as they pertain to finishingProcess control:Testing in support of production processes (sampling, periodic, lot testing)PIF has numerous production processes requiring ongoing testing to verify their effectiveness, along with lot testing for verification of production ordersControl limits/ operating limitsData analysis and reporting through charts/ pivot tablesAbility to schedule and manage a variety of process control tests (internal and outsourced)Basic chemical laboratory skillsInterest in expanding working-level knowledge of chemistryTest/Inspection Equipment and Measurement:Experience with, or ability to become proficient with basic measurement tools such as:o Digital caliperso Scales/ balanceso Pipettes, graduated cylinders, common lab glasswareo Rulers, machinist scalesoo Eddy current coating thickness meterso Gloss metersJob Requirements:· Quality Assurance: 2 years (Aerospace/ Defense industry preferred)Bachelors Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) field, or combination of relevant experience, certifications and training.Manufacturing: 3 years preferredExperience with ISO9001:2015/AS9100DExperience with Nadcap Chemical Processing CertificationsMust have strong Excel experience
