Corrosion Control Technician I

Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full-time position for a Corrosion Control Technician I in San Diego, CA.Summary: Support contractor personnel shall support the Corrosion Control Product Line/Shop in successfully accomplishing its mission to provide corrosion control services to U.S. Navy ships, shore commands, and other units in an attempt to extend the service life of shipboard components.Duties and Responsibilities :Performs ship-checksPerforms shipboard pickups and drop-offsLoads and unloads burn-off ovensSandblasts componentsSands, grinds, feather-ins, and vacuumsMasks, installs protection, and hangs components in preparation for powder coatingPowder coats components in accordance with the required technical specifications under instructionConducts blast profile, chloride, and coating thickness tests in accordance with SOP/UIPI under instructionRemoves masking and protectionRemoves finished products and stage in the finished product area with protective wrappingLoads finished products on truck for deliveryDelivers products to the piers or the ships as required, and occasionally, the local shipyardsUses and maintains the following equipment and instruments: Burn-off Ovens, Curing Ovens, Blast Booths, Powder Coating Booths, Compressors, Hopper's and Media, Gantry Crane, Fork Lift, Hydraulic Lift tables, Table Saw, wash down booth, Dip Tank, Fluidize Bed Tank, Decontamination Trailer, Coating Thickness Gauge, Infrared Thermometer, Dew Point Humidity Gauge, Single Rail Mobility Device (Monorail System).Uses and maintains the following instruments: Abrasive blast nozzle, Powder coating gun, Powder coat panel, Micrometer, Press-o-film, Tape, Plugs, Rubber Mallet, Razor blade or knife, Sand paper, Pneumatic grinder and sander, Floor dolly, Tag machine, Wire cutters, Pyrometer, DS-108, Thickness gauge, Powder coat holiday detector, Hooks and wire, Automatic embossing machine system Matica C 400, Shop vacuum cleaner, Power floor sweeper.Adheres to shops' Standard Operating Procedures for equipment and shop processes.Washes down all products in wash down rack before burn process.Follows all safety requirements in accordance with shop, SWRMC, and OSHA standards.Assists any shop work stations in their responsibilities.Recognizes proper equipment operation/s and reports any abnormal conditions (leaks, malfunctions, hose condition, lighting, calibration, e.g.)Documents all in process square footage (blast only and finished goods).Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.Minimum 1 year of related experienceKnowledge of standard items, test procedures and test memosAbility to read blueprints, technical manuals, and repair standardsAbility to use abrasive to blast all products using various blast mediaAbility to powder coat all products using various types of coatingsAbility to qualify as a fork lift operatorAbility to obtain and DOD Secret ClearancePreferred Qualifications: Military experience preferredPay Range: The pay range for this role is $25.48- 26.26 Hourly. This is a reasonable estimate for this role.
